BRIEF_RESHAPE.md landed at 199 lines and seven steps. Four amendments surfaced in the first day — all from real briefs, none pre-emptive. Five briefs filled the June 2026 shelf and a 103-file audit shipped in parallel without breaking commit scope.

four amendments, first day

Every amendment was surfaced by a live brief, never pre-emptive:

• Step 2 — date rule loosened to allow S-1 brief backdate.
• Step 6 — quote rule changed from a 15-word threshold to a principle-based call, surfaced by the Coachella brief.
• Step 7 — checklist re-synced with the Step 6 amendment.
• Step 7 extended — post-publish verification added as a standing step, surfaced by the visitor-economy brief.

the shelf and the discipline

Seventeen commits landed this session across com/homepage and aicv-playbook/docs. The June 2026 shelf filled out with five briefs: Anthropic's S-1, McDonald's ARCHY, the Coachella Stronghold moratorium, the AICV visitor-economy audit, and Anthropic's coordinated pause. Path-scoped commit discipline held the entire run — a 103-file audit sat staged in a parallel thread without contaminating the brief-commit sequence.
